memorable

Walking through the Great Sandy Desert for five days and arriving at the edge of Lake Mackay was one of my most memorable experiences. Just pure, white, flat salt as far as the eye could see. Lake Mackay is a vast saline lake that straddles the border of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. It is located 500 km west-north-west of Alice Springs and, with an area of 4737 km², is the fourth largest lake in Australia.

  1. It's one of my regrets in life so far that I haven't seen more of Australia. I've only really been as far inland as Beverley, and that's not very far inland at all.

Do you have any photos that you can share of your travels?

  2. Dear Wide Brown Land,

exciting as your trip to the desert sounds, it cannot compare to my ardous trek to the business school recently. It was such a long backbreaking dangerous journey...:-)

But seriously, it would be great to see any photos you might have of Lake Mackay.

I have never been to Urulu but I have flown over it. It is a marvellous sight.
